Institut Jules Bordet
The Institute Jules Bordet, an Integrated Multidisciplinary Center, is the only autonomous hospital in Belgium totally dedicated to cancer. The Institution hosts three of the MEDIC research groups. It covers both cancer screening and clinical care, is involved in research activities and is at the same time a teaching hospital at a high level.

Institut Suisse de la Recherche Expérimentale sur le Cancer (ISREC)
The ISREC as a research institute is part of the Faculty of life Sciences of the EPFL. It maintains a balanced emphasis on fundamental research into biological systems and basic and translational cancer research, seeking to elucidate mechanisms that on the one hand are subverted to facilitate tumor growth and progression, and on the other orchestrate normal biological processes in development and organ function. ISREC is the home base for the Swiss National Center of Competence in Research (NCCR) in Molecular Oncology, which is focused on characterizing the complex organization and functional importance of the tumor-organ microenvironment, in model systems and in clinical samples.

Ludwig Center for Cancer Research (LICR)
The LICR is the former Lausanne Branch of the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, which has become fully integrated into the University of Lausanne. The Center has as primary research focus tumor immunology and the development of effective modalities of cancer immunotherapy. The Center hosts one of the MEDIC funded research groups.

American Association for Cancer Research (AACR)
The largest private cancer research organization in the world. The mission of the AACR is to prevent and cure cancer through research, education, communication, and collaboration. American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO)
The ASCO is a professional oncology society committed to conquering cancer through research, education, prevention and delivery of high-quality patient care. It is the largest Clinical Oncology organization in the world and organizer of the foremost clinical cancer research meeting. ASCO intends to assure lifelong access of all cancer patients to high quality, effective, affordable and compassionate care; to make the most accurate cancer information will be available so that patients and physicians can make informed decisions about cancer prevention and treatment; to provide resources for research to optimize patient care and to conduct translational research.

European Association for Cancer Research (EACR)
The EACR is Europe's largest member society for cancer research. EACR provides services to members, presents educational, training and scientific meeting opportunities, and facilitates communication and collaboration between the cancer researchers who make up its membership. It also sets out to raise the profile of cancer research and cancer researchers in Europe and the need for sustained political and economic support.

European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC)
The aims of the EOTRC are to develop, conduct, coordinate, and stimulate translational and clinical research in Europe to improve the management of cancer and related problems by increasing survival but also patient quality of life. Extensive and comprehensive research in this wide field is often beyond the means of individual European hospitals and can be best accomplished through the multidisciplinary multinational efforts of basic scientists and clinicians.

International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC)
The objective of the IARC is to promote international collaboration in cancer research. The Agency is inter-disciplinary, bringing together skills in epidemiology, laboratory sciences and biostatistics to identify the causes of cancer so that preventive measures may be adopted and the burden of disease and associated suffering reduced. A significant feature of the IARC is its expertise in coordinating research across countries and organizations; its independent role as an international organization facilitates this activity. The Agency has a particular interest in conducting research in low and middle-income countries through partnerships and collaborations with researchers in these regions.

Ligue Vaudoise contre le Cancer (LVC)
The LVC is a charity, created in 1960. As a private foundation, the Ligue is primarily supported by private donations. As a non-governmental organisation, the Ligue can take rapid action in case of need in supporting cancer care or individual cancer patients. The Ligue collaborates with social, health care and medical authorities in the Canton Vaud and with the Swiss Cancer League.

The National Cancer Institute (USA) coordinates the National Cancer Program, which conducts and supports research, training, health information dissemination, and other programs with respect to the cause, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cancer, rehabilitation from cancer, and the continuing care of cancer patients and the families of cancer patients.
